Why using oil on your face isn't an insane idea.

September 24, 2017

Right now using Face Oils are all the rage; but in my Great Grandmother's day this was how they moisturized and treated their skin.  It wasn't a scary concept and it definitely wasn't a no-no!

I know there are people out they're,(all my acne prone and oily skin types,) who will likely want to debate this point. To their point, they aren't wrong but it also doesn't make them right.

Yes I know I just confused you, but hear me out.

Just because our a great Grandmother's used Oil to moisturize their skin doesn't mean that the oil they chose is right for our skin type. Genetics are a powerful thing yet it doesn't mean we have the same skin issues. Your Great Grandmother could have had dry skin and you're oily so no way are you going there! However you just need to choose a different oil, the right one for you.

There's an oil for every skin type even oils light enough and astringent enough to decrease the amount of oil or to balance out your skin. So back away from the alcohol and keep reading because all skin types can benefit from Face Oils.

How to choose?

Mostly when people take about using oil for your face or body the standard go to's come to mind: Coconut, Olive, Avocado, etc    Well don't let those be the only ones you try because they're are a multitude of Oils out there from the exotic,(Prickly Pear) to the ones you didn't think about putting on your face (Almond Oil).
