What's your Spring Beauty Routine?

Spring is here!!!!!

 

 

Here at Shia Skin Care we get very excited about Springtime. Since we're based in NYC Springtime is incredibly exciting! The sun is finally out, the heavy layers can come off, and It's Ole Man Winter's turn to hibernate! 

 

Spring is all about rejuvenation! Out with the old and in with the new. It's a great time to cleanse and detox the body and the mind. Spring is a new beginning, so if you've been looking for new ways to spruce up your skin care routine Springtime is always the right time!!

 

 

WHERE TO BEGIN? 

 

We know that there's quite a bit of information, tips, and trends out there about how to transition your beautiful skin from a Winter routine to a Springtime routine. So we've decided to keep it quick and simple. 

 

  • CLEASNSE

  • EXFOLIATE

  • MOISTURIZE

 

So in true Shia Skin Care fashion we will only be highlighting natural ways to Cleanse, Exfoliate, and Moisturize. If you have your favorite products that you enjoy using, by all means use those, however Spring is the time for new beginnings.....just saying!

 

 

CLEANSING 

 

Is the foundation of your skin care routine. You've got to start with a clean surface. Unfortunately a lot of cleansers out there can be harsh and drying to the skin. Therefore we like to use alternative methods of cleansing that won't leave your skin crying out for moisture!

 

Try Oil Cleansing! 

 

This might be a non starter for some off you because so many are afraid of to use this method because of fears of breakouts.  Oils are a great way to cleanse your skin. It removes make up and dirt in one step. Shoot for light oils like jojoba, argan, sunflower, almond, or coconut. They have great overall skin benefits and are absorbed by the skin as to not leave you feeling greasy. Another added benefit, you can use them to moisturize at the end of your routine so no need for multiple products. A good way to minimize products, remember it's all about Spring Cleaning! 

 

EXFOILATING

 

This is an important step in your routine when transitioning from Winter to Spring. Now you won't need to do this everyday but at least once a week. Your skin will thank you with a healthy and beautiful glow!  

 

Here are a few ways to exfoliate your skin naturally. 

 

  • Clay masks are a great and classic way to exfoliate your skin ( and deep cleaning)

  • Sugar scrubs (gentler on the skin than salt)  try combining it with honey and fresh lemon zest to brighten dark spots and smoothe away rough areas

  • Don't forget to add your favorite essential oils. Rose and Lavender are great for all skin types 

 

 

MOISTURIZE

 

The last and final step that you can never forget....moisture!  Now that you'll be spending more time in the sun; you'll definitely need to make sure whatever moisturizer you choose has a SPF component to it. 

 

At Shia Skin Care we enjoy creating herbal face serums that can be used to moisturize and nourish your skin. When trying out some of your own creations look to lighter oils, Jojoba and Argan are our favorites and easy to find. They do tend to be pricey but you can blend them with each other or with Avocado or Almond Oils. Try adding a few drops Frankincense or Patchouli Essential Oil for amazing anti aging and skin firming benefits. These are great creations to apply to the face and neck as a nighttime routine.
