Huh? Fish oils? Why do I need those? Believe it or not people aren't aware of or feel they need to take fish oils regularly. Not to throw another "thing you should do" at you but Omega 3's which are found in fish oils are incredibly important to your daily health and of course, to your skin care routine.

Among the many things that fish oils provide are essential fatty acids. These are indeed essential. They benefit the cardiovascular system, brain and cognitive function, eye health, pregnancy and lactation, joint mobility, healthy hair, supports your immune system, and yes, finally your skin!!

Essential oils seemed to be everywhere these days which is great!  Every time you go on Pinterest there's something new about them. Just try googling essential oils and you'll find pages and pages of all things Essential. As an Aromatherapist I t think it's wonderful that people are interested in and exploring essential oils.  They are extremely beneficial and have amazing therapuetic properties. However there's a lot to know first before delving into essential oils. Some can be useful and others can be dangerous. Who can and how they should be used is very important. Most importantly, how do you know if an essential oil is a pur...

Ugh!!! Tis the season. Yes it's winter and no matter what one does our skin just cannot stay hydrated. What to do? Why is this happening?!?! HELP!!!!

It's okay, I'm here to help.  As someone who has always had dry skin, I've had no choice but to master this issue all year round. So winter is no match for me! Here are a few tips to help you and your skin survive ole man winter.

First and foremost before you can heal dry skin you need to start anew and that means getting ride of those dry dead skin cells.  Ever tried to moisturize chapped lips only to find your lips still a little, ahem crusty?  Yeah well you've got to get rid of tha...

You know that moment when you feel like owning the night?

That inspired me to create my very first bar and I wanted that feeling to permeate throughout it.

Where to begin? As to not give away all my secrets or expose too much of my geeky ways I will just say this.... Morocco, just hear me out.

When I think of Morocco, after my initial thought of when am I booking my ticket and who's coming with me, I think of spices!! As someone who spends a lot of time in the kitchen. I enjoy exploring new and interesting spices in my cooking.  Like many of my ideas I am always curious to try cross over techniques. For example I use a lot of...

Ah home.....When I think of home, I think of a place where...wait, that's a lyric to a song. Sorry back to business. Okay! Home makes me think of comfort, laughs, tradition, all those fuzzy feelings we see in the movies. I'm so one of those people and it inspires me to create. How does that translate to skin care? Good question! The short answer, Oatmeal. Yes, I said Oatmeal.  Oatmeal is a classic weather you're talking about breakfast, cookies, or yes even skin care. Oatmeal has been used for many years to treat all sorts of skin ailments. Eczema, skin allergies. psoriasis, dermatitis and sensitive skin. It's also in a lot of pe...

Mirror Mirror one the wall who's the fairest of them all? Face masks....where to start?  Face masks have taken over the conversation these days. You can't open a magazine or walk into a drugstore without running into 500 types of face masks. They are everywhere (we've tried most of them) The peel off, the one time use, the ready to use creams, the DIY, or you just go to the spa, you name it we tried it! Who can resist a spa like treatment that is the face mask! They're relaxing, fun to do with friends, and darn effective.

But seriously where do you start??? Ok so you know your skin type, then you move on...

As my mother would say, "that's nothing new, we used that when I was a kid".

I will admit that more often than not I rolled my eyes at that very statement.  When I told her about a ingredient I was using or something I "thought" I discovered, I wasn't interested in hearing, "that's old news!!!" However after a while it made me think...."why isn't everyone using it?"

Throughout my life I've instinctively kept things simple in my skin care regimens, partly because of my sensitive skin and mostly because I was in my twenties and didn't feel the need to worry about such things. Then I turned 30! On one hand I was totally cool with...
